Alexis Mann

Alexis has 20 years of experience at the intersection of housing policy, business development, asset building, and applied research, with a focus on translating data into practical strategies that expand economic opportunity and strengthen communities. As Director of Strategic Initiatives at MCOG, Alexis advances collaborative approaches to housing, business growth, and entrepreneurship, including the Housing Ready Certification Program, which helps communities assess and strengthen the policies, processes, and partnerships needed to support a stronger housing continuum, and the Midcoast Maine entrepreneurship HUB of Excellence, which connects businesses with technical assistance, capital, and strategic partnerships. Previously, Alexis advanced workforce development and wealth-building strategies at the John T. Gorman Foundation and directed research on economic mobility and racial wealth disparities at Brandeis University's Institute on Assets and Social Policy. Alexis holds a PhD in Social Policy and Sociology from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management and brings extensive experience in mixed-methods research, economic development, and regional planning.
