Webinar: Clean Energy Resources for Maine Communities

The Maine Department of Energy Resources has released the Solar and Energy Storage Handbook for Maine Communities, a practical guide that walks municipalities through solar and battery storage basics, including how the technologies work, what developers look for when siting projects, and the utility interconnection process. The handbook also features Maine-based case studies, FAQs to support fact-based community conversations, overviews of state and federal regulations, land use and zoning considerations, and model ordinance language communities can adapt. To help municipalities make the most of this resource, an informational webinar will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 1:00–2:00 pm, offering an overview of the handbook and recommendations for using it as a local planning tool.
