Kate Tagai

Kate Tagai is a community planner and facilitator with over a decade of experience engaging coastal and island communities across the Maine Coast, the Great Lakes Region, and the South Pacific. At the Midcoast Council of Governments (MCOG), she provides technical assistance, training, and community planning support to municipal leaders from Bath to Belfast, with a special focus on Waldoboro.

A graduate of the University of New England, Kate’s background includes scientific research, college administration, professional baking, teaching, community outreach, and leadership development. This interdisciplinary experience informs her collaborative approach to community development.

Outside of work, Kate enjoys kayaking local waterways with her family and sewing in her home studio.
